so, you're thinking of auditioning?

First things first, make sure you stop by Marsh Jam at 8 pm on Monday, September 4th!

You'll hear all of Yale's a cappella groups perform, and then you can sign up for your audition slot. Proof will be performing near the end,

and we'll be ready to sign you up at our audition table right after the concert!

If you missed Marsh Jam, you can still schedule an audition by emailing yaleproof@gmail.com!

Our auditions will be held in the Lyceum Room in Saybrook College on from September 7th - 10th.

Please prepare a short, one-minute solo of your choice. At the audition, you'll also be asked to sing the first two lines of the Soprano 2 part of "Lullaby of Birdland" and do some simple vocal exercises! "Lullaby of Birdland" sheet music and audio are available here.

At your audition time, you'll meet one of our rush managers in the Saybrook courtyard and fill out a brief questionnaire.

Be sure to arrive 10-15 minutes early so that you have plenty of time to breathe and relax.

"We welcome anyone and everyone interested to audition for Proof, whether you’ve sung in choir for years or are a pro at singing in the shower. Proof auditions start out with a group warmup and warmdown so we can get to know your vocal range; then, you’ll do a variety of pitch matching exercises. Afterwards, you’ll sing a short quartet with other Proof members, then followed by some optional sight reading. Finally, you’ll end with a solo of your choice - this can be anything you feel comfortable singing and that shows off your range. Before your audition, make sure to drink water, get plenty of sleep, and take a deep breath; we are so excited to meet you and can’t wait to hear you sing!"

-Musical Director '16-'17 Sarah DiMagno

Best of luck from all of Proof!
